Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
We understand that you might have some questions about the Librarians Teach curriculum and professional development. Here are the answers to the most common ones we hear, and you can always contact us directly if your question isn’t answered here.
General Questions
Librarians Teach is an online marketplace that is just for school librarians. We sell curriculum and online professional development that is by librarians and for librarians. Our customers are school library media specialists, teacher-librarians, school librarians, and other library staff in elementary or secondary schools.
We partner with certified school librarians with years of experience who create and publish their curriculum and professional expertise.
For curriculum products, no, your access does not expire.
All Librarians Teach curriculum products comes with a perpetual, one-user license. You can use that item for all of the classes you teach and all of the libraries you work in. You cannot share your purchases with anyone else.
For example, if you travel to 2 or more school libraries, you can use all of your purchases in every school you teach in. If you share a school with another teacher-librarian, then you both need to purchase a license to use the materials.
For online professional development courses, it depends on the course.
When purchasing most of our professional development courses, you receive a perpetual, one-user license. Some courses, however, must be renewed each year. Check the specific course’s listing, or your school district’s contract for full details.
You may NOT share your account login or purchases with anyone. You may NOT share, transfer, distribute, rent, or sell access to any product or course to someone else. See our Site Terms of Use for full details and more information.
Classroom teachers often get a teacher’s manual or a scope and sequence to tell them what to teach and in what order. If you would like the same convenience, you can purchase one of our curriculum bundles.
The Elementary K-5 Library Lessons Bundle provides enough lessons for 36 weeks of library lessons for students in kindergarten through 5th grade.

Librarians Teach was founded in 2019 by Collette Jakubowicz and Cari White, two certified teacher-librarians who wanted school librarians to have access to standards-based, engaging curriculum.
In 2021, we started creating curriculum bundles for librarians and districts to purchase an easy to use, “starter curriculum” that they could build on. We can also help you create a personalized curriculum based on your schools’ needs, grade levels, and class schedule. Contact us to schedule a free consult.
We have since added online courses to support librarians’ professional learning and development. Learn more on our About Us page.

Yes! We have lessons and materials for up to 12th grade, and are actively adding more secondary library materials.

Online Professional Development Questions

Our online professional development courses are taught by certified teacher-librarians and experts with many years of teaching experience. Some course teachers are practicing school librarians in the United States, while others are retired and ready to share their expertise and advice with the next generation of library professionals!
It depends on the course…but usually not.
When purchasing most of our professional development courses, you receive a perpetual, one-user license. Some courses, however, must be renewed each year. Check the specific course’s listing, or your school district’s contract for full details.
